my knives

Shokr,
If you bring the angle of the edge down in the tip of these, That will give a bit more clearance also.

Have fun.

Thanks Laurence,
Thats a good tip, you mean make the blade more 'pointy' by changing edge angle right?
And taht wouldnt affect the grip or put any strain on wrist?

Yes,
This will raise the handle angle and give more knuckle clearance from the board.

The design of the handle has more to do with there being any strain on the wrist.
Drop down the rear of the top of the handle. Unless you want a Japanese type Wa or straight handle in a D or oval.

Shokr,
Nice looking profiles, You will have some great blades out of those when you finish them.

I don't how you guys get anything done it that country? The news on Egypt is never good over here and it seems like most people there spend they day protesting or supporting one person or thing or another?

The US state department issued a warning not to travel to Egypt a couple of weeks back.
Well Duh? Its not on my short list of countries to visit with all the unrest and turmoil going on.

I hope things settle down for you folks.

Hopefully things settle down in Egypt soon. I'm amazed you can get anything done. Good to see your still alright.

How did your forging work?

Laurence, thanks. yeah things are pretty crazy here now
I woukdnt call it dangerous but the unrest and tension is everywhere!! But yeah i get your point

Brad, thanks a lot :)
I tried that bowie once, and wanted to change it a bit but havent done so yet.

The last time forging made me feel sorta helpless, the steel moved but not how i wanted it at all, and when i do something the way i wanted, when i change something else it affects the one before and the cycle goes on!

I think the work you have showed us is awesome stuff . As far as the forging goes ? Thats a whole different world but definitely worth a little time to participate . Keep up the good work friend and be careful .
