It’s not very close to the edge I put a very then initial wash over the whole blade and a little washed off closer to the edge that made it look closer to the edge then it is. It might have very well been to thick I don’t know. Picked up a nasty crack in the quench right on the tang so if it makes anything it’s just going to be a small shop knife.

After Abbott so kindly provided me with a table for my Milwaukee band saw I neglected to post pics. So here's a couple photos. The vise is an old Harbor Freight adjustable vise that really isn't all that good but suffices for this setup. I could remove it from the vise but after spending time getting it level etc. I doubt I will. It's working remarkably well!

Had a little set-back with my first folder. Everything was going well until about the 20th cycle of opening and closing. Then the spring snapped. Got some great advice from Chris Crawford on tempering the next spring. So it's back to the shop to try again.



I did manage to get this one done for a good friend.

Here's my first batch of Semi-production knives...heading to the knife shop in town to show him and the to the sheath maker and the back to the knife shop for some to be put on display...5 of these are sold. I have 10 more to glue scales on and finish....then start another batch...

Thanks OPB! On the way to the sheath maker I swung by a guys place that was interested in the blue and red one...he ended up buying 5!! so 10 sold...!

Just finished this slipjoint for a customer.
I am pretty happy with how it turned out. All the materials were his choice. Its supposed to be a companion piece to a fixed blade made out of the same stuff.

Making some progress on my first folder. Nothing fancy. Just trying to learn and work out the process. Chris Crawford has been a huge help. Steel is 01 and scales are black G10 with nickel silver pins. Got the bevels ground out last night and sanded to 400. Still a ways to go but it's getting there.





Have a couple additions to the shop. 9" Disc sander and a surface grinder in excellent condition that I got a great deal on. Now I just need a mill. UGHHHH. It never ends!!
