What's going on in your shop?

Just finished this one.

Paper Mache (my made up name) Sanmai damascus blade, pocket clip and back bar Nitre blue salt colored
The core is 1084 the clad metals are: w1, a2, mild, 01 and nickel powder and foil.
High layer count damascus turned pivot collars and thumb stud Nitre blue salt colored
Engraved with gold inlay
File worked liners
Carbon Fiber Blue shred scales
Floating back bar
Anodized titanium pivot heads and screws

tkroenlein where did you get the AC speed control, is it 110 and 220 volt ? what is the HP. rating ? how much money ? is it single PH. Thank you Deane

That's a KBAC 27D. (Model #9520) It's a phase converter and VFD. It's good for up to 2HP on 220V, but de-rated to 1.5HP if set up on 110V. They are $357 no matter where you look. I think KB electronics must have minimum pricing.
 
I've been planning this upgrade since I built the grinder almost two years ago. I'm also getting excited about the second grinder I'm planning for the old motor. It'll be a low sfpm set up for scalloped belts and small contact wheels.
