Sheep horn and curly koa-My favorite!!!!!!!!
DR....
Nothing smells worse than sheep horn lol

Working on cleaning up a couple of nessmuk skinners post heat treat. Planning to use this nice piece of purple heart that a friend gave me to finish up one of them. IMG_20150515_141524_766.jpg

Here is the knife I'm making for the sheep horn(I have to etch it yet but the blade line on the blade is where the hardening line is):

All but the first on are heat treated by Peters Heat Treat the top blade I did myself (52100 blade steel quenched in Texaco type A). I'm hoping to use the block of koa for the chef knife...

We've been forging quite a few W2 kitchen knives as of late. I have a good stock of this steel, use what you know best.

Daniel,
I really like that little Chef knife pattern. Love to see that finished.

Thanks! I REALLY like this knife it is SO thin it amazing allot of taper and it a laser! but it's actually a pretty big chef about 8 1/2" blade and 2 3/8" wide(big by my standards anyway). I hope to get it

finish this coming week, I have a piece of curly koa from J.Doyle and white G10 liners...it will be nice!

Making an upside down drilling table for odd shaped scales. Not my idea, seen it on YouTube once but can't remember who posted it. 3" square tube.

Not on par with the world class work you guys are posting- but a realistic example of where I am in my knife making progression.

Thank you very much, Daniel. I really appreciate the kind words. Really happy with the liners too. I hadn't stacked liner material before.

I know my designs are basic. But I'm trying to nail down fit and finish. I've done knives with guards and I'll be honest- it is always a first class butt kicking. I know my knives would probably benefit from bolsters- but I cringe when I think about it.
