Yea, I am trying something different. I am tired of dealing with all of the little scratches on the blade after working the handle. Plan is to get the bulk out of the way, clean up the knife, and then attach the scales. Plus I really wanted to see how the handle is going to turn out![]()
Aaah, you haven't glued yet. Hadn't noticed that!
Yeah, know what you meant about the scratches. A pain in the wotsit! I was working on a Green River style blade earlier with an apple handle. all shaped down but scrathes round the tang that need working out - the metal dust is getting in the apple and being a nuisance.![]()
What grits and belt type you using for the shaping Steven? I find DI a pig to work. Sharp belts for sure!!
Just got some cool materials in for an order. Mammoth ivory and mammoth tooth. Never worked this type of material and could really use a few pointers. The price tag makes me nervous to even touch them
