^^ I just saw that folder, Very cool! I love that kind of blade.
I'm giving hamons a try, I'm making a traditional(sort of) Puukko looks like I have something going on in there but it's not nearly as clear as I was hoping from the way I applied the clay.
Ground a Murray Carter design White Crane Jr. Knife is AEB-L @ 62Rc with a 750 grit belt finish. Waiting for a shipment from USA Knife Maker so I can get to the next stage with my first slip joints.
Will do, yes the blade is etched. I had a lot more detail in it to start but when I dipped it the acrylic I used came right off... What you see there is my best salvage job.
Finally starting my USAknifemaker liner lock template. I'm using o1 for the blade and stainless for the non locking side. I printed the entire how to thread out and I'm just following it along. So far so good.
This is what I ended up with last night. I need to cut the lock bar next. I'm not sure what route I'll take, I don't own a mill, but I'm thinking I'll end up using my drill press in some way.
Finally got my new Baldor motor for my grinder installed, she ain't a pretty grinder, but she serves the purpose till I can get a 2"x72". I have lots of variety in the works: trying a pocket cleaver for the first time, working on a couple steak knives for a kitchen set, and a few random hunting/camping knives.
