Yo dogs! :running dog:
I recently hooked up with David Mosier to get a project off the ground and it's about time we let the cat out the bag...
I find Dave to be one of the most talented, hard working and humble dudes in the business.
I designed this model with his style in mind and I consider it an honor that he picked it up with such enthousiasm!
Here's a look into the kitchen as Dave has just started working on them.
There will be 3 different sizes for this IKBS flipper: Medium, large and XL.
...And 7 of each size.
They will be made available exclusively through Larry at 3 Lil' Indians.
Ladies and gents, I give you the Creep...
To start the show, here are my original design sheets of all three sizes.
The medium and large will be (thick) linerlocks.
CF scales on the medium.
CF scales with Ti bolsters on the L.
The XL will be a full Ti framelock.
XL.
Large.
Medium.
All three for size comparison.
And now the hard work starts...
Here's a pile of blanked out parts... Scary stuff right?
And a closer look at the blade profile.
Guide plate for drilling the pivot holes.
And fitting the first medium! 2thumbs
Tapping.
Flattening before grinding.
Grinding before heat treat.
Milling some traction groves.
Wrapping.
Off to the kiln.
Aluminum plate quench.
And liquid nitrogen cryo quenching.
Thanks for watching!
To be continued... :bud:
