gliden.... Apron looks cool. My suggestion for what is worth is small open pocket mid upper chest. But as I use my as a double to turn bowls the large open pockets people usually have are just a trap for shavings, so a flap would be awesome. Concur on the strap comment.5

No legs yet. I planned on trying a basic apron first. Asked my local forging pals to help me on design. I like simple and this is what I came up with. 8" at top, bottom 24", 16" from top to transition then 18" to bottom, 34" top to bottom. Pocket is 4" wide x 5" long, enough for Sharpie, pencil and a soapstone holder. The legged version will be similar in size but split on the bottom (haven't figured how high yet) then reinforced at the crotch area. All Copper rivet reinforced except pocket area (wanted a smoother rivet there so hands wouldn't catch). As far as the Nylon stuff I'm at a stalemate with that? My buddies wanted the nylon to save weight, but I get your point with longevity.

I don't know if you figured out the strap arrangement yet, but would suggest over the over the shoulders with a "X" in the back, then around the waist....that takes the weight off the back of the neck.
I've worn leather aprons with only a neck strap and a waist strap.....whew! They get heavy real fast on the back of the neck, and for me they caused awful headaches if I wore it too long.

Agree with the x strap design comment too. Much more comfortable than a neck strap and waist tie.

I wonder if attaching it to your belt (like suspenders) would work. Keeps the strain off your neck and holds your drawers up!

That does work.... I did it with a couple of my first aprons, Ya just gotta be prepared for the included wedgies !

Well finished first apron. Sold to a local Blacksmith! More interest so I have another on the bench. Gonna get some Beauty shots for my Etsy page prior to delivery.
