Mixed batch currently at Bos Heat Treating:
Local guy is helping me build my first forge! New propane tank lined with 8# density Kaowool:
1 coat of thin Satanite, going to do another 6 or 7 thin coats, letting them dry between each:
Forced air burner setup:
Blower will connect to the gate valve, and the coupling will connect to another 5" pipe nipple with SS tubing welded into it to act as a diffuser.
This is the guys finished forge that mine will be very similar to. About 5-7 minutes to get to temp from a cold start. Tube on the side of the forge lets the burner fit in, but be removeable so I can light it outside the forge, put it in and take it out when I am done so the nozzle doesn't cook as long in the forge when it cools down.
