So, a friend's son wanted to make a tomahawk out of a railroad spike for a high school project. I helped him make this. It was his first time doing any blacksmithing. He did well. I only made a few adjustments here and there to make sure he was going in the right direction. It was actually a lot of fun.

Picked up an old USA made Nicholson file at an estate sale, the teeth were wrecked so I annealed it and made this little guy. Used the Darrin Sanders heat treat info for 1095, it’s sharp

Playing around with new designs and materials. What do y'all thing? The neck knives are Damascus the rest are 80crv2. The 80crv2 desert ironwood, firedog micarta, and dyed box elder in block form are all new to me. I'm excited to see how badly I mess them up lol

I received a very early Christmas present from my wife today.


She gave it to me early since she knows I need to make a sheath for the KITH.
She doesn't understand my obsession with knives but she's always been supportive.

And I also received this head knife in the mail today from JT Heat treating...which brings up the question...how do I put an edge on this? I'm thinking you need to stand to the side of the grinder to do so?

He will do custom work. I have a knife with him now being fitted for a sheath.
