Nice work Dennis!! I really like that curly mango.I am working on a couple of my small hunters. One coat of Tru-oil. Lots of work left on these two. One is curly mango with Blackwood bolsters. The other is curly walnut with black/white paper micarta bolsters. Crappy pics. My bad.

Isle Woods on Ebay always has some beautiful stuff. I’ve purchased from him in the past. He’s in Hawaii but ships fast. Good guy to do business with.Me too! I only had one piece. I will need to find some more.
I wish had that kind of room. Nice little press there.Forged a 2lb ball peen into a straight peen and then went to Bruce Bumps and bought a little pneumatic/hydraulic press while I was there
One day of work for you, six weeks for me. Looks like you have some nice wood lined up too. Has it been awhile since you did full tang knives? Most I remember have been hidden tang.
Can't go wrong with either of those. Both are very nice! Blade is awesome too. Looking forward to seeing this one come together. Post some WIP pics. I haven't made a hidden tang yet either and I really need to try.Starting my first hidden tang. Trying to decide between Koa and crotch walnut for the handle. View attachment 70392

I'm really not the one to ask since I haven't made one either but I think so. The back of the ricasso should be finished and square. Everything from there back is finished to match. Will it have a guard? Hey John Doyle!! Help a couple of brothers out. Can you give us your input?Should the blade be complete before filing and fitting up the spacers and handle?
