Ha! Tho canest not scare me you old fart! The great warrior chief trembled at the powers unleashed by the blade heat treated on All Hallows Eve.

Well - I think I need to temper next - right

two 2 hour cycles allowing to cool in between.

Notice the tin foil holding them - works awesome (CRS can’t remember who to thank for that tip)

So we are hand sanded and hand sanded and hand sanded and hand sanded. I no longer wear my glasses in shop... new rule - hand sanded some more. Now, have a few lined up to etch and epoxy. Bruce just might get something... I am learning so much - but have soooooo much to learn. I WILL do this and do it well... damn hillbilly...

Enjoying this thread @Greg Rice! Good work on your blades
I need to get me a file guide ... I have real issues getting my plunge lines parallel
@diverdale Thanks man! The file guide is the snizwiz. Get one - or fake it and make one outta two old files!

I am having a lot of fun - Glad you like this thread. I hope folks are at the very least entertained at my bumbling and learning!

That's coming right along Greg! Looking good!
Thank you Sean - it has been a journey for sure. I tell my managers that it's not the deliverable I am after - but that we get better from our journey - never more true than with knife making...

Something tells me that though you might be new to knife making ... you are not new to metal massaging.... just my 2¢

Thank you, made me feel good there... but I really am - I have never hand filed metal like this - nor hand sanded metal. I do not even know how to weld very good other than to hold something on for a straight 1320 feet (and it is UGLY). Never ran a mill. A little woodwork, but I am by no means a craftsman. I am just an old gear head who built cars to raise hell in small town Oklahoma. I do love to draw and do some pencil work, and have all my life - but that is my 'singing in the shower'

I dunno... I just love to pidle - and learn... And try to do things I have never done before and do 'em fairly well. I love that song

"When was the last time, ya did somethin' for the first time?"

But honestly, blame ol' Bruce the Hillbilly hisself - he rides me so hard I have to make it right or again - you have no idea what a PITA he is...
