Good Morning from East Texas

Good Morning All,
I have always had a fascination for and an appreciation of good knives. As far back as I can remember I have always carried a good pocket knife, and usually had a good fixed blade handy when necessary. I was a long time hunter and learned to appreciate a good knife, and learned how to take proper care of a knife. I am presently trying to get into knifemaking. It is something I have always wanted to do and at 59 years old I figured I better get started!!! I am a long time woodworker and it appears that some of the tools and techniques are similiar. I also have some background in welding. I have a good friend in the East Texas area that is pretty well known in the custom knife industry and with his help and yours I hope to be able to make some decent fixed blade knives. Looking forward to learning and sharing.
Thanks!!!
