Your acid is FeCl? Is it mixed with anything?A bit of acid, a q-tip, a polisher, and some elbow grease. Not too hard to put the etch back on.
I need to cut some pins, mix some epoxy, and attach the scales.

Tinting the epoxy is good idea. What do you use for "black dry paint"? Is that like tempera paint powder?Epoxy, pins, and squeeze. Let it cure until tomorrow. I did tint the epoxy with black dry paint. Hopefully hide a few flaws.
I bought black, red, blue and white pigment from K&G like 10 years ago. A little bit goes a long ways. This stuff.Tinting the epoxy is good idea. What do you use for "black dry paint"? Is that like tempera paint powder?

I would not have noticed that.Time to hand sand the handles.
I will point out a blunder. I chose these scales and cut them because they had a knot showing on both sides. I thought it would be an interesting eye catcher. Then I put a pin right through it when the handle was layer out. Look at the third pin back on the top. Pity!! Poor pin placement. My bad.
