So I don't know where I have been but, I sit down and read this thread from page1! To say I am impressed would be an understatement! Gene I use to cabinet work and build some furniture and your attention to detail impresses me!! I will keep an eye on this thread!

Will steal your idea Gene where you tape a wedge under the handles to taper the front edge instead of altering the table on the disc grinder. Going to use it this very week for the handles on a set of chef knives.

Justin, I used a checkering file I got from amazon. $32 if I remember right.

Cool idea looks great. I use mine to do jimping on spine of blade. I tried to do a diamond pattern on one spine and it got messed up! Just like all of this just need to keep at it!
