Checkered Inlay

So I don't know where I have been but, I sit down and read this thread from page1! To say I am impressed would be an understatement! Gene I use to cabinet work and build some furniture and your attention to detail impresses me!! I will keep an eye on this thread!

Will steal your idea Gene where you tape a wedge under the handles to taper the front edge instead of altering the table on the disc grinder. Going to use it this very week for the handles on a set of chef knives. :)

Justin, I used a checkering file I got from amazon. $32 if I remember right.

Cool idea looks great. I use mine to do jimping on spine of blade. I tried to do a diamond pattern on one spine and it got messed up! Just like all of this just need to keep at it!
 
the checkered inlay is super fine! Looks really really good! I can’t wait to see it done where it matches the handle profile.
