I found out about these great looking scales from a member on one of the forum, I called the owner of TurnTex Curtis Seebeck http://www.turntex.com/index.php?opt...page&Itemid=28 and after a 30 min. of his time, I was convinced that his fabulous looking hand made scaled were the right match for my fillet knives. I first purchased a few set's of Scales and soon after ...Curtis & I bartered on another few set's for this fillet knife I made him.
I plan on offering my fillet knives in any of the 1/2 dozen colors he's producing.

The fillet knife has Magma Red Cactus Handle with a RWL-34 7 1/2" mirror polished blade, front and back dovetailed 416 stainless bolsters.

SweeeeeeeeeeeT! :35:

What kind of steel is the knife made of?

Damasteel RWL 34 Stainless Steel
Manufacturer: Damasteel AB
RWL 34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by Damasteel AB. RWL 34 has a strong following in Europe, and a favourite of reknown Danish knifemaker Jens Anso. This is not surprising given it's impressive performance and European origin.
Essentially a powder metallurgy variant of ATS-34, RWL 34 has very similar composition as ATS-34/154CM, but because of it is manufactured from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strenth and resistance to cracking.
