8" Bowie with Honduran Rosewood burl

J. Doyle

Dealer - Purveyor
Just got this one all done. It's headed with me to Seattle this weekend. All comments welcome. :)

Hand forged from 1075 steel
13" overall, 8" blade, .220" at the ricasso with full distal taper
Clip is just shy of sharp
Rounded spine and ricasso
My own damascus fittings
Coined German silver spacers
Honduras Rosewood Burl handle, carved and sculpted
Checkered steel assembly screw

That hamon came out sooo complimentary! Everything radiates from the ricasso, your choice of materials , workmanship and design come together in such a simple elegant way, as I always say, simple is not easy.
Have fun in Seattle.

Great looking knife, Mr. Doyle. Your handles are nothing short of amazing.

By the way, your knives remind me of a quote that my niece likes to throw around, "Trends come and go, but style is forever."

Man, sometimes I really hate your work!
I just about get to where I think I'm doing ok, then you put up something so divnely crafted that I don't see any real point in going on.
Truly inspirational, keep it up.

Thank you all again for your kind words. This knife was pretty popular in Seattle. I think it was my favorite of the 6 I took.

How do you get the coining so deep? My checkering file only goes so deep. Do you then go over it with another file or do you have a deep set checkering file?
