Forge vent inside? Any running in enclosed space? CO levels?

I don't have a hood over my forge but I do have a squirrel cage above it. The heat rises and get drawn out with that but also I have an old swamp cooler without water that I use to move fresh air from the room next door. I play musical doors depending if I'm grinding or forging. I can forge in...

I'm teaching a Seminar on "Cut N Shoots" need ideas

All good stuff guys. I think the slide show would be the best way to go. I'm drawing up a new project, a pistol/folder with a small bore .22 and lock back blade. It may not be finished in time but thats all the better as people can pass it around and play with it. I'll finish it at a later date...

    KnifeDogs on Facebook

Facebook seems to be a busy place. I have a slot there and spend some time each day looking at knives and watching videos of all sorts. If a so called friend puts up something objectionable I just take their name off my friend list. :)

I'm teaching a Seminar on "Cut N Shoots" need ideas

Thanks guys, This is all good stuff. If the room is high tech enough to have wifi and a projector I can possibly go on-line or plug in a flash drive for some of the procedures. Yes Matt, my equipment is mostly simpler and very little in the way of high priced machinery. I'd love to have a CNC...

I'm teaching a Seminar on "Cut N Shoots" need ideas

Great so far Gentlemen, more more ideas. How about some handout printed materials? Like calibers and powder measurement information? I have a generic plan for a pistol/lockback I could make copies of although I have no idea how many copies to make. Ive done this one other time and time went...

    I'm like a youngun,a week before Christmas.

Nice birds Calvin. I've yet to go for a turkey. We are getting some good populations around here finally. The winters have been mild and they are thriving. I saw a half dozen cross our street last year.

    Best way to ship...

I've shipped forges all over the country lately and used UPS for them. They only weigh 70 pounds though. I bought a box at Uhaul rental and dumpster dove for styrofoam packing materials. It ran total about $100 per forge. Be sure to use stranded tape.

    Hatchet frame handled bowie:)

It does go very well with this style of fighter blade. I bet it would work on a big chopper camp blade too. Its got that no-nonsense "lumberjack" work look to it. Be sure to show us a pic after you're finished with it.

    New machine is in!

i have some "tool envy" right now good decision in my opinion especially since you know how to use it. For me it would be the coolest paperweight in the world.

    Large diameter grinding wheel build.

Laurance, I,m sure your 5/8" shaft will run the big wheel, at least one like this one as its really light weight. Variable speed is a must though to keep surface feet per minute down to a safe speed.
