    Mark’s KITH for Dennis WIP

I am attempting inlayin the DIW into the maple. I basically just ran two parallel blade kirfs and cut strips the same width. Hopefully o can get them fairly tight. I also plan on using some sought of pin to hold the blade onto the saya.

Favorite place to shape handle. On the garbage can outside my garage on a 1x30. No dust to clean up and I don’t waste my 2 x42 belts. I use an ice cube to keep the pin from burning the wood. I’m not sure if it’s doing anything but I hate when it burns.

Yes I understand what you are saying. I don’t usually grind but I like to see the whole knofe even as I contour the handle.

Keeping bevel clean while gluing up?

I’d like to try that. It seems like when I clean the ricasso off with acetone, I’m taking some out under the scale.

Keeping bevel clean while gluing up?

Just wondering how you keep the bevel clean and untarnished, scratched, during the latter parts of the process. Sometimes I use blue tape and it seems to leave marks.

Rough start but I’m pushing through. I’m not sure what this is? Maybe a hybrid cleaver/chef knife. OAL 11 inches. The blade is 6 inches long. .120 inch 1095 stock. I cold hammered the side for a hammered look. I will probably sand a bit more to bring out the texture. im not sure what wood I...

    Stained knife liner tips?

I usually don’t have a problem, this time I am not happy with the stain. I’m not sure if it’s the combo of the African black wood and the spacer. Any tips on bringing down to a clean green?

    Cleaver handle width larger?

Hammers, axes, larger tools tend to have wider handles. Does that make sense for a cleaver also? I was also thinking of it would make it more balanced.
