McLeish KITH 2020

This is the part I was waiting for. Seriously, I'm wondering what you'll do. I had a hard time getting thin hidden tang knives into a wood bolster. I tried drilling and burning neither worked well for me.

Looks good Bruce.

Thanks , Ted. Here's my thinking so far: find center with calipers. Start small (1/16) screw hole with a gimlet. Keep straight with 1-2-3 block. Drill to tang depth. Repeat on each side of original hole. Make a broach just under size of tang Clear tang hole with broach. Finish fit with needle files. Fill hole with epoxy. Sink tang.
Well? A little help guys.

I'll definitely be watching! Didn't know what a gimlet was and never used a 1-2-3 block. I know my equaling file is .050 and my file knife is .04 at its 'edge' and .06 at the spine - my needle files.
I know you said you used to make pens so I'm interested to see what you do. Good luck!

Thanks. I'll try to make it interesting and somewhat informative

I didn't know what a gimlet was either; at least not in woodworking. I thought he was fixing himself a Vodka Gimlet. But I'm not sure his holes would be straight if he did.
