Yes. I really like it. I've been using a respirator all the time now, especially when working with wood. I don't seem to have a reaction to it which I'm grateful for as it's beautiful wood.
 
First attempt at a frame handle knife. The blade and guard are going to be parkerized, then glued up and finished. I have a lot to learn, and have already discovered things to do differently the next time around. However, I may be liking frame handles now. 1075 blade, mild steel guard, black micarta frame, and camo Ultrex G10 slabs.

Added this today. I think there are better deals out there, but I wanted to buy in person to confirm things were adjustable and bearings where there's supposed to be bearings. 1/8" to 1/2" blades. Re-sawed some 3/4" into 3/8"...works like it's supposed to. 0A22C971-A936-46AD-83A8-65ABBA328CF9.jpeg

Thanks! I really learned a lot on putting this together. I definitely did some things that I will change next time around. I left the tang too thick in the frame, thinking I wanted a lot of strength from having as much steel as I could. However, that resulted in the back edge of the frame being really thin, and I had to put the pins really close to the edge. I will bring down the tang a little bit next time, and bring the pins in a little bit, so they are not in the area where I am tapering the handle.

I do really like how tightly and quickly you can put one of these handles together, and you can get the handle really thin if that is what you are shooting for.

I parkerized the blade and guard today, and just got it glued up. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow. I will post pictures of the finished knife when I can.

i haven’t attempted a frame. this gives me some inspiration for an idea i’ve had for a knife.

Casey, that looks awesome! The parkerizing is perfect for the green and tan tactical scheme. I would never know that it isn’t a hidden tang except for the really cool black line.

good day in the shop.
Randy Henry is a local guy and newer maker. He is in the Guard but was told to take the day off. He stopped by today and asked to hang out in the shop to watch anything knife making. I put him to work helping to get some billets ready for forging. We laid up a traditional billet and then worked on a canister. I talked his ear off while he worked. He did a great job and I enjoyed having him. We will work out a time where he can come back and forge a billet or two soon. I will extend the same offer to any active service or first responder.
