Up or Down?

I'm in the final stages of building this 7 3/4 in bladed bowie. The mental image I have has a shaped/sculpted brass butt plate and a barrel nut on the end of the hidden tang. The plate has not yet been fully shaped with some "ovalizing" still to do.

Originally, I had the plate "up" with the thicker end on top, but now that the handle is shaped, I really don't know!

What say you........ Up or Down?

I agree with the masses, "up". Be sure to post pics when you are finished. I can't see the blade, but that handle looks great.
