Here is my first photo on Knife Dogs of a piece I completed not to long ago.I"ll never do another one after 128 hrs.Its a Japanese Fire Dragon carved in walrus ivory. The blade is 1065 polished to a mirror finish.I left the guard rather simple not to distract from the handle. It is now displayed on the bottom end of a walrus tusk that I scrimshawed a fire dragon on shooting flames up at the knife.Anyway thanks for taking a look. Holy cow!

I used to do a little carving but nothing as detailed as that and I can only begin to imagine the work you have done.

Beautiful,
Carey

Amazing. You must be insane! I barely have the patience and attention span to tie my shoes!

That is really WILD. The carving is so intricate. There's no way I could even imagine accomplishing something like that. Well done Sir.

Incredilble carving skills. Thanks for posting here.
Would you mind showing some of the tools you use for this detailed carving? Not that I could do it but sometime I want to try it and dont know where to begin.
