Somewhat "Moran-ish"

In the July, 2006 issue of Blade Magazine, Buddy Thomason had a very informative article about a gentleman that bought a model M-11 from Mr. Moran some 35-40 years ago.

I kept going back to that issue and looking at that knife. I finally got around to making one similar. It is not exactly like Mr. Moran's (wasn't meant to be a copy), but has some of the same features.

Forged 1084
Brass Hardware
Maple Handle (The wood is from Mr. Moran's Estate Auction)
OAL - 9 3/4"
Blade Tip to Guard - 5"

It looks fantastic. I really like the brass with the dark color of the maple. Great job.

Very Nice Robert, you surely captured the spirit of the original. Job well done.

Very nice indeed, Robert. That dark maple and brass really make the knife stand out. The knife looks great.

Excellent. Your photos do your work justice.
Very Nice. Maple and Brass, like Cheese and Crackers. Good Stuff!

WOW super SUPER Nice and clean....and quite Moran-ish to be sure.

Congratulations on making a classic! And thanks for sharing it with us all. :)

Thanks guys. Mr. Moran had a style all his own. Some I really liked, and some I didn't.

Now if I could just develop "My Style"....... Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Thanks again for the kind comments,

Robert
