You are spot on with that comment! It was amazing how easy it was to dial them in. I think this was in the $50-$75 price range. I can only imagine what a professional vise would do and feel like.look pretty well made. yeah...with that you can nail your spacing in one hold!
It is a Wilton from Amazon...…..$90. I get free shipping with Prime. What brand is it. I looked at the HF ones and did not like how sloppy they were.and the good ones I can't afford! LOL!!

I have really enjoyed using mine. It makes locating and drilling pin holes so much easier. Safer to!Recieved mine yesterday for what I paid for this it seems very well made!! It didn't have any directions in the box.not that it needed them it was pretty intuitive to assemble. Now just some cheap parallels and I'll be set!
I have the Harbor Freight 4" version. I believe I paid about $50 for. I've used it a couple times but it does not work well at all for any precision work. It's way too sloppy even after attempting to trim the play out.
I might just spring for one of these while they are on sale. 3 inches is big enough for almost all knife work
Cool idea. I'll have to give it a try.You could use a mag base with a travel indicator on it. One for X and one for Y. That will put you in the ballpark. It would help if you put a indicator in the spindle of your drill press. Run X back and forth. Tap it straight to the back jaw of the vise. Done deal.
