San Mai and mammoth tooth Hunter

HHH Knives

Super Moderator
San mai Hunter. This custom hunter was made with HHH damascus over a carbon core steel. RC 60.
The OAL is approx. 9" with a 4 1/2" blade
The handle is a combination of mammoth tooth and ebony bolsters with copper fittings.

Thanks for looking, God bless!

Gorgeous work Randy- that ebony really sets off the copper and tooth and the san mai looks fantastic!

Now that's a Beautiful Knife! The San Mai pattern looks amazing, and that handle combination is perfect.

I have a friend who wants a knife with a Mammoth kind of handle, but that stuff is expensive. Is it difficult to work with?

Thanks,

Don

Thanks guys. Mammoth tooth does present some new challenges in comparison to working with wood or man made materials. That said. Its not that hard to work or work with that its not worth figuring out!! Message me if or when you are planning and I will try and advise to any tool;s you might need and tips about how to drill and sand to shape etc. etc.
