Review of My First Year at Making Knives...

It was a great and successful year and I couldn't have done it without all of your help along the way. I have really enjoyed sharing my trials and tribulations with you guys and hope to continue in other ways. This has been the most rewarding journey that I have ever embarked upon and it has literally changed my life for the better, in more ways than one. 2014 is going to bring bigger and badder things and my second year at making knives is going to be a great one. I hope it is for all of you as well. Thanks for all of the support and comments along the way!

Here is my first knife (finished 1-28-13) thru my latest knife (finished today, 1-3-14)...

It is very cool to see how my designs and skills have changed over the course of a year. Can't wait to see what the end of next year will bring.

Thanks, everyone!

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate all of the help y'all have given along the way.

Started this year off right with a camping trip to my buddies pecan farm in San Saba, TX.

Had a great time and got to see a lot of friends and meet a few new ones. Handled a lot of other maker's knives and got to compare mine with some veteran makers. Woke up to the smell of black powder and the sound of the wind rolling through the pecan trees. Couldn't have been a better way to start the new year. Time to get back to work in the shop.

Stephen, you've really become a true "knifemaker" - get ready to give up your construction jobs:)

Thank you, Ken! I have been trying to quit my regular job but my brother has made that difficult (he's the boss). If everything keeps going like this, it will hopefully happen this year.

Awesome Knives Steven
Looks like 2013 was a great year for you, Well done.
