Hey im placing an order for steel from bohler, or to be exact will check to see how much they would bleed me for what i want to order
I plan on going for the N690, N695(440C) for stainless (altho when i checked their structure difference are minimal, maybe you guys would understand better if you checked the pdf (link in the first post)
And K110(D2) 460(O1)(working with for the mean time and have a supply to last me a bit) for carbon steel.
@The guy keeps telling me to get K100(D3) but i dont think thats good, at least for now
Any suggestions on whats a good amount to 'try' a steel?
i plan on getting steel that ends up about 4.5-5mm thick(they dont sell them surface ground), will buy 4cm width, what remains is length,
so far the largest knife i worked on (not including leaf springs) is 24cm, smallest is 14cm, generally whats a good no. of knives to test a steel? (i know i asked the question wrong, but i think you get it, been doing lots of stupid mistakes lately and would love to decrease that, specially since mistakes are never cheap)
thanks
