I've been on here a while but never introduced myself. I'm fixing to post some knives for sale and one of the rules is that I must introduce myself so here I go. My name is Calvin Robinson, I'm 58 years old, started making knives about 6 years ago. I sold my 21 yr. old air cond. business 2 years ago and have been making knives full time since then. I now work 50 hrs. a week instead of 60. I mostly use D-2 but use other steels as well, A-2, O-1, 13c26, Alabama damascus, and Mike Norris damascus. I use many diffrent handle materials, micarta, G-10, mammoth ivory, ivory, and some wood, I think ipey is my favorite wood, I also like sambar stag in amber color, girrafe bone is good also.
I make my knives using the stock removal method, I have a fully equipped shop and do my own heat treating and testing. I was voted in as a probationary member of The Knifemakers Guild this past September. I can't make the Blade Show this year but I will be at the A. G. Russell Knife Event in Rogers Ark. this year. And The Knifemakers Guild show in September this year.
Knife Dogs is my favorite knife forum and I am grateful to all the people who make it possible.
