New Neck Knife

A knife maker and friend ( Ryan Weeks) was traveling through Oregon a few weeks back and he stopped by my work.
He had made a neck knife for me a while back and he asked me how I was liking it.
I told him that use it all the time and like it a lot. Next we talked about if he was to do something different, what would I change.
I said a pointier flat blade would be good for boxes and cutting cardboard (something I do a lot).
Next thing you know, this showed up in the mail. This is the only one he has made like this so far. Ryan called it the Thorn.

The wood on the handle is some of the dense redwood I found a while back.
The wood is not stabilized. It was some hard oily redwood.
Looks like he sanded and buffed the handle. I am thinking about applying an oil finish to darken it up a bit.
Ryan did a great job on the knife. I am not knocking his finish. I just do things a little different when I make boxes and stuff.

Great looking necker. I like everything about it - nice rig all around.
