Just finished this one yesterday. This is my English trade knife blade, but with a full tapered tang and bone grips. 7 1/4" blade of 01. 3/32" at the blade/grip junction then tapering in each direction. The tang at the butt is about 1/32". Weighs in at 5oz. Hope you enjoy a look.

Doing well here buddy !

New daughter is happy and healthy as is everyone else. Keeping busy making knives and trying out new things.

Dang near had to give ya a call to ask some soldering advice but I got it figured out. Working on a curly maple sheath with silver throat and toe.

Hope alls well on the river, Josh

Love it 2thumbs. Thanks for sharing. Question tho. how did you get the bone so shiny?

Bennie

I sanded to 400grit, then buffed with a black compound I get from Sheffield Knifemakers Supply. The black is moderately aggressive on bone and hard materials, but usually gets trapped in pourous surfaces. This was very closed grain bone though. Most often there will be tiny open spots that will pick up the black compound, but this set did not. I will be making a center seam sheath for it. Probably today, and will start the ageing process. I will post it again when completed
