Lately I have not felt like working on any knives. Today I woke up and had inspiration to finish a few up. It is unusual for me to have multiple knives to take pictures of at the same time.

Knife 1 - 1075, oak burl with natural bolster, copper pins, blue G10 liner, two tone sheath, edge braiding.

Here is another knife that I finished recently. My one and only Puukko. It is a knife style originating in Finland. Sort of like the American Bowie knife. Lots of interpretations have developed.
This one is made from 1095. Through tang construction. Has a stippled brass guard and stippled pommel. Elk horn throat, brass and stainless accents. Stabilized and dyed maple handle. Milled fullers on each face and top of spine. Grooved guard and pommel. I gave it to a buddy that has been giving me machining lessons so I made a walnut box to sit on his desk.

This little beauty is headed to Alaska. Right at 6 inches long. 1095, African Blackwood bolsters, Claro walnut scales, hamon, brass pins, arrowhead basketweave, and edge braiding.

Got another one finished up. Last one in a series of five with this pattern. I am ready to move on to something else, at the moment. 1075, African Blackwood, Siberian elm burl, copper pins, Wickett & Craig leather with edge braiding.

Fathers Day Knife Bonanza. Got this one finished up today. 1095, brass bolsters and pins, desert ironwood scales, saddle tan sheath with orange thread.

Thank you opaul. My leatherwork is nothing too special. It is just how I have developed, over time, my limited skills. There are some leather workers out there that are truly exceptional at what they can create. Paul Long comes to mind. There are many others.
I have made over 150 sheaths, numerous rifle slings, notebooks, Bible covers, keepsakes, etc. I try to get better and better at each successive, next one. It is just like knife making. I have been fortunate to find some really good guidance from maker's so much better than myself along the way. That has shortened the curve, a bit.
I really think any one can get better at leather working. It just takes practice and good guidance. Lots of trial and error. If you ever have any questions, just ask. I would be honored to help you out.
