leather braiding help

I have braided a little leather but it has been a long while. ..I am wanting to make a necklace for my daughter ...i have looked through a few tutorials but they are not very understanding .Does someone know of a good tutorial for a simple mind

If you go to walmart or a craft store they sell this plastic lace in a kit call boodoodle it Is how it started braiding in cub scouts. It is only a few dollars. But the instruction are the best. And can used with leather or paracord

I used to braid horse tack in a former life...enjoyed it...
