Hello fellow Dogs,
My name is JD Boren. I'm a knife maker living in western Kentucky. A really nice guy and fellow knife maker from over in central Kentucky, you know who you are Mike, led me to Knife Dogs today. I've had a look around and like what I see. There are some old friends from other sites, some new people to get to know and I really like the layout and atmosphere of the site. So...here I am introducing myself.
As I said, I'm a knife maker. I've been making knives for nearly 30 years. Made and sold knives in the early 80s, stopped making to sell in the mid 80s through the 90's and jumped back in with both feet several years ago.
All I make is fixed blade knives. Mostly sporting knives and occasionally a forged blade or two. Folders have parts and forging takes skill...both are things that make my head hurt. Plus, I'm clumsy and don't heal like I use to. ;~)
I look forward to getting to know everyone, checking out some of the cool knives of all you makers and learning some new tricks.
Yes, I'm an old dog, but I can learn new:bud:.
