Hello All,
I started out with a practical need for a good hunting knife and wound up collecting sharp, shiney things. It's hard to stop because, while I have a lot of really nice knives that will do the intended purpose, there a still a lot of knives that are so interesting in their design and execution. My first real custom knife was done by a gentleman by the name of Ron Post and I went on to collect 3 more of his knives, all with ATS-34 steel. He does fantastic work and is very knowledgeable about what constitutes a good hunting/skinning knife. Ron is located in South River, Ontario.
I joined this forum because I wanted to understand the process of making a good knife and sheath. I have found a wealth of good information here and new appreciation for the knives that I already own and the ones yet to come. I look forward to completing my first knife and sheath.
