Don't see why it wouldn't work... It's how I grind minus the tilted platen. She's probably tilting it due to height so she can still look down the platen and see what's going onAnyone grind like this? Her work is clean and crisp.

Check out her work.
Warlander enterprises.
I think we could learn a few things from her.
She does. I saw a YT video interview. She was a fiddleback apprentice for a while. Any of you guys know how they get tha ‘spalted’ look on the blade flats. It’s obvious on the hammered pattern but the spalted look I can’t figure out.It looks like she does most of her grinding after heat treat. I watched quite a few videos of her grinding. She does nice work.
I’m going to give it a go.I've thought about tilting the platen at that angle, but never tried it.
I don't know, but I remembered this thread where he used a hammer with a cut up face, might be something similar? This is the finish I referenced anyone have a clue how they do this.

she does do knives with a hammered finish but I don’t think that photo I referenced is hammered. She said she hammers that all in during and interview with Greg Medford. You can watch it on YouTube. Around the 3 minute mark.
The patina looks like that mustard patina that everyone was doing a couple years ago? Definitely a hollow grind though! This is the finish I referenced anyone have a clue how they do this.
