Had a wrestling meet to attend. But, made a bit of progress. Got the strap stitched up and the holes punched for braiding.

One side is braided. I have the lace cut for the other side. Also have the retention strap ready for final assembly. Getting very close.

I have the mention this stuff. Obenaufs Leather Conditioner. Good stuff and made in the USA. You can get it at Cabelas in the boot department. I put it on all my leather stuff.

A little tidbit about the sheath. My recipient has a screen name. OWL. So he got his name and an owl stamped on the sheath. Followed by an acorn stamp because is is one lucky nut.

I'm super impressed with the fit and finish, and the leather sheath is a beauty too, characteristic of his leather work.
The blade is razor sharp and the hamon really sets it off.
