Counter sinking press fit pivot heads??

OK so I bought these realy nice press fit pivots from alpha knife supply http://www.alphaknifesupply.com/hardware.htm . I have seen where some of you pros have used them on frame locks and have counter sunk or counter bored the head of the pivot into the lock side of the frame. I think it looks realy nice and clean. So what are you using to counter bore & give it that nice clean no gap look. I am assuming it is probly a counter bore but I can't find the correct size. So what do you use how do ya do it, and where do ya get them??
Thanks for any help, Shane

Depends on your tooling.

19/64 end mill or counterbore.

Call Chuck up and tell him he needs to sell counterbores since he chose some whacked out diameter for his heads.

You can choose the correct number drill bit and have a machine shop post grind it into a step drill. I've done it before on a stone wheel but a good machinist does a better job. I've also used a standard store bought counterbore and lathe turned the head to fit the bored hole. Always test on a scrap piece first.

If all you have is a drill press, you can use this old trick.

Start your counterbore with a drill of the proper diameter.
Drill until you start getting a full diameter hole, but just.
Now, chuck up an endmill or flat bottomed drill and proceed to depth.
you pre-drilled pilot hole will guide the endmill...

This works well, as you can use a carbide endmill when it's tough to find a carbide counterbore.
