I bought the plans for the NWG through the knifemakers website about a week ago. I now have all the required square tubing (other than the 4x4 base and I am about to purchase that through the website) I still need the required straps all are 1/8 inch thick 8 are 4.5"x1". 2 are 3.5"x1" and 2 are 3"x1". The local steel suppliers either did not have them or were unwilling to provide such a small order. I do not mind a little hard work but I would really rather not purchase some flat stock and use my hack saw or dremmel to cut them(at this moment I do not own a metal cutting band saw). Any suggestions where i could find the straps for sale?

Rudy those are not what I meant but they very well might work thanks for the suggestion.

UB,those may work, and I am using them on my tool rest.
I would not use them for the frame, you don't have near the
contact,or holding ability,as you will with the straps.
The 1x1/8 wouldn't be that hard to cut with a hack saw.
The stuff from Lowe's or the local hardware store is pretty soft.
If you have access to a 4'' side grinder you can get a
cutting disc for it

Good luck

God bless,Keith

most every hardware or home store has a small metal rack and they will have the 1/8"x1" strips you need. If it's a little larger, that will be OK also.

Get a Harbor Freight or Tool Shop (Menards) brand 4" angle grinder for 15 or 20 dollars and you can easily cut the lengths you need from a piece of longer flat stock.
That, or a hacksaw with a good metal blade will make relatively short work of the small number of straps you require.

It might be a little bit of work in the short run, but you'll be glad you did it right in the long run.

thanks all i think i found some flat stock that i can cut them from with relative ease.
