So far by most accounts it was a very successful show. How did it go for you?

It was pretty crazy for me, I'll give details later. Right now I would like to know how it went for everyone. Did you learn anything new about shows or the business in general?

I don't think I could effectively describe everything I learned in a novella, much less a forum post... :)

But the highlights of my learning-experience were:
1- Knife people are eager to talk to you, share ideas with you, and get generally excited to see new makers in the trade.
2- Fit and finish, Fit and Finish, FIT and FINISH! In that order...
3- A few rock-solid designs that you can repeat will can get your just as much recognition as doing all custom commissioned work.
4- And reputation/personality is everything in the knifemaking community!

Btw, I'm thinkin about pimpin' my Les George shirt at Gray Rock ORV Park this weekend... :D

I had a great Blade 2011. I sold out and got several orders and met a bunch of people. I had a list of people I wanted to stop and visit with, but could only manage about 15 minutes away from my table. I always learn something every time.
Already looking forward to next year.
