I finished these up over the weekend, this was my second time making a bird and trout type knife. I like the design and shape of the knives and i look forward to making some more
these are both about 7" oal, both convex ground running all the way to the spine for a very low drag cut. i ground these to about .008 thick at the cutting edge before HT and then finished them on a 25deg convex sharpener then buffed the edge, i was very happy with the amazingly sharp edge this produced. both are CPM154CM heat treated and cryo treated to about 61rc and double tempered, hand rubbed 600grit finish. the customer for the green and black knife wanted a smooth finish on the G10 so i did both knives that way. the second knife's handle is a base of OD green and black G10, then some .060 thick blood red G10 and then some 1/8" black G10, i really like the way this looks but dang i have had a heck of a time trying to get pics to show it right lol
anyway here's pics, comments are great and useful, good and bad
thanks
