Balisong Kit Input Needed -- Give us your thoughts

Just a small word in the name of the French balisong fellowship and the AFB. I just posted the concept of that new balisong kit on francebalisong, and i think there will be a lot of people interested by that idea and that KIT in our community.

If i can help for anything ;) feel free to ask ;).

I have them here. I just haven't had time to do anything with them yet.

This sounds like a very interesting project to me!

FYI:
When I look at a Bali. I look for a few different things.
(any knife really)

Superior cutting ability.
Blade/edge Geometry

Full height flat grinds.(preferred)
Note:Full height Hollows are acceptable but are much harder to finish by hand.

Overall construction strength.
I like to see large strong pin/s throughout.

Blade length:
4-5"

Blade shape:
Good belly for slicing, and a fine point.

G. Bradburn makes another couple of blade shapes I am also very fond of!:

BTW: Mr. B great work I'm a new fan!

Now I'm just spit ballin here, so . . .

CS also has a knife called a paradox the blade shape is ok (I guess?) I think it's a Leaf/Spear point but I "almost" always prefer a full height grind)

Roach belly blade profile.

ETC. . .

Last but not least is a vacuum melted SS blade.

I really like good edge retention!
Newest top of the line Sandvic?, easily takes a very nice edge but only holds it ok.

I think any thing SS that will easily take an edge, and really hold it W/O being too brittle is good W me!
(blade flexibility) :bud:

Thanks for your patience.

I would like a kit or two ---- 4" weehawk or bowie blade if possable , I will be keeping a eye on this thread ALL THE TIME !!!!

As long as it is a good quality kit, I'm not too picky. I like my blades in the 4-5 inch range, I prefer tantos, but then I'm not super picky on that one either. Let me know when the kits is ready I wanna buy one.

All steel construction is kinda my thing as well...just sayin...

MoreBeef, that is a funny signature line :)

I am looking forward to a bali kit, I can't find a titanium handled bowie / clip / tanto blade bali with a pocket clip that I can afford without selling a kidney :)
