Howdy folks,
I'm Phil Tham from central Texas. Made knives part time from 2002 to 2005. Had a change in jobs and relocation that took me away from the sport for awhile. Anyhow, I'm now retired from the traditional job and back at knife making again. Happy to have found this forum...looks like a fun place.

Welcome to KD!

Got any pictures you can show off? We are like a bunch kids when it comes to pictures of sharp, shiny things... :)

Pictures? Sure...here's a few of the latest...

Awesome work Paps! I especially like that third one, with the concho in the handle.... Nice TX theme.

Great filework too.

Thanks HHH...the scales on that first folder are the result of a little experimenting I was doing. It's a pinecone core cast in acrylic resin.

Paps, welcome to the Dawg Pound! Thanks for posting the photos, nice clean and beautiful workmanship. The knives posted are some of the most functional designs with striking beauty as well.

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome...much appreciated! I see there are lots of very talented knife makers around here and I expect to learn alot. Heck, I already have and only been pokin around a few days.

Welcome fellow Texan. I wish I was closer to Bryan, I would love to learn from you. Great looking knives. Would you drink a cup of coffee w/a Texan and gimme some advice on knifemaking if I ever got close to Bryan?

Sure mayanshooter! Give me a holler if you're ever in town and we'll get together and talk shop or tell lies or whatever. My shop is always open for visitors.

Welcome to the Pack! I really like your pine cone experiment. Certainly caught my eye. So did your filework. Nice looking knives. Knifedogs are the Best, a very addicting and informative group like you never met.

Your knives look awesome. I'm just getting started with this obsession! I live just up the road in the "big" city of Riesel. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks again to all for the warm welcome...this is definitely a fun place to hang out!
