Finished for a friend finally... Alliteration... hahaha.

Feedback and critique welcome as always.

12.25" OAL
6.25" to the handle
5.75" sharp
1-11/16" at its widest
1/4" thick 5160
Heat treated by Peters
Flat ground with convex edge (sharpened by Will Crutcher/Awesome Edges)
FCl etched, then buffed with 000 steel wool
skull crusher, tent peg driver, walnut spliter-opener on the tang
Handle material is horsestall matting. Held on with slow-set epoxy and 3 chainring bolts
Simple lanyard in orange for visibility
Sheath is 0.060" black kydex with pass through belt loop
Also includes a 3/16" firesteel with horsestall handle tab and orange lanyard. end of lanyard is one of Boss's orange and black whistles, cause ya never know.
Retention on the sheath is amazing for such a heavy knife. This one could go on or in a pack with NO worries of losing it. If you shake hard enough to make it fall out, you have FAR more problems than a lost knife. LOL
I was told to make the grip "large for large hands", so there are actually 3 distinct ways you can hold this knife, based on what you need to do.

I'll be shipping it out to Nebraska later today or tomorrow.

Look great Brad. I think you hit the nail on the head with this one!

I really like your comment about the thinner kydex. I'm finding that .06 kydex works great for just about any knife. I know some guys like heavier stock of kydex, but I find that the .06 gives a much better form and if properly designed and pressed has far better retention that heavier stock of kydex. It also helps that it's lighter for those guys who count every gram of weight for long back country hikes and hunts. I recently made a sheath for a RAT 2 for a guy and did everything short of throwing it across the back yard to try to get it to slip. The .06 has become my weight of choice.

Thanks guys.

Murph, couldn't agree more on the thinner kydex. I've only had mediocre results with the 0.093 or thicker...
The 3 circles on the front are actually from a quarter, nickel and penny taped to the blade when I pressed the sheath. No specific reason... Just because I can. :)

Great knife Brad, that's a real user for sure and no doubt will provide a lifetime of reliable service. I'm a fan of the .060" Kydex myself hardly ever use any .080" anymore.

The most ironic thing about this knife so far... is that I sent the guy a picture of the blade with a shaved-off patch of hair on it from my own arm. He texted me 2 days after he received the knife, to tell me he already cut himself with it.
