Finished for a friend finally... Alliteration... hahaha.
Feedback and critique welcome as always.
12.25" OAL
6.25" to the handle
5.75" sharp
1-11/16" at its widest
1/4" thick 5160
Heat treated by Peters
Flat ground with convex edge (sharpened by Will Crutcher/Awesome Edges)
FCl etched, then buffed with 000 steel wool
skull crusher, tent peg driver, walnut spliter-opener on the tang
Handle material is horsestall matting. Held on with slow-set epoxy and 3 chainring bolts
Simple lanyard in orange for visibility
Sheath is 0.060" black kydex with pass through belt loop
Also includes a 3/16" firesteel with horsestall handle tab and orange lanyard. end of lanyard is one of Boss's orange and black whistles, cause ya never know.
Retention on the sheath is amazing for such a heavy knife. This one could go on or in a pack with NO worries of losing it. If you shake hard enough to make it fall out, you have FAR more problems than a lost knife. LOL
I was told to make the grip "large for large hands", so there are actually 3 distinct ways you can hold this knife, based on what you need to do.
I'll be shipping it out to Nebraska later today or tomorrow.
