A couple of dress knives

Here is a pair I recently finished waiting for me to finish the sheaths.

Fully file worked and mirror polished. The Guard is 416SS. Handle material is Tortoise shell celluloid on gold leaf with 14 kt gold pins. First one has a 2 3/4 inch blade and is 7 inches over all. The second one has a 2 1/8 inch blade and is 5 1/4 inches over all.

Love the knives! When applying the gold leaf , is it attached to the scales or the tang?

The gold leaf is attatched to the tang.
