440C spring

Can anyone help me with the tempering temp. for a folder backspring in 440C? A friend of mine is looking for this info., and I just can't find it.

According to the spec sheets spring temper for 440C is 725-900 degrees f. Thats a fairly wide range so I would shhot for the middle.

Thanks guys! That info is a little contradictive, so anyone else? Seems odd that there is a 9 point drop in a 100 degree temp increase, but I found that info as well.

Yep from everything I can find it is a 9 point drop. You dont see many slippies made from 440c. I use ATS34 or carbon.

According to Evenheat, harden at 1880 for 15 min and temper at 1100 for one hour yields RC 43-45.
