    upgrade scales on Benchmade Griptillian

I feel like Benchmade just designs knives,....at best they grind blades, with THICK edges,..... they might produce a few completed plastic handled "cheapo" models at best, except their more expensive than Custom made "special models". The business seems to rely on people upgrading the handle...

    tool or weapon

Its a "carving fork"usually had a matching carving knife. I beleive the litte "guard" thingy is so you can stab it into a roast and lift or manuevre the meat with out it sliding down the prongs onto the handle and burning your hand.

    Resiprene C handle?

Busse as far as I know make up marketing names for their materials. Resiprene c is from handling it similar to kraton so maybe start with companies that use that. I think when you start looking a whole new confusing world of rubber will open up. I'd keep it simple and use horse stall mat, I...

    Resiprene C handle?

I'm no expert but I suspect it's a special rubber/plastic injection molded under heat and pressure used by Busse, swamprat and their ilk. A good low tech material that is similar is horse stall matting like is used on bladesports knives.

    disc sander problems

This might be hard to explain or solve here just looking at pictures but a lot of you guys here know a lot more about this stuff than I do. I bought a fairly cheap disc sander, best I could afford, the problem is the disc wobbles like a fat guy leavin' a bar. As much as 1/4" which causes...

    My Awesome new grinder

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have only had time away from work to grind four or five blades and do some sharpening but I love it. With the two hp motor it is almost impossible to bog down the drive belt slips first if you really lean in. This is the first grinder where I've been able to alter...

    Serrated blade help.

I have had good results using the different sized sanding drums on a dremel, start with a normal edge thickness, mark with a sharpie to get your spaces right, hold the dremel at the right angle and be careful. If you go slow and keep the edge cool, then you can get pretty good Spyderco style...

Thanks Rob45 that was fantastic, all the info you passed on here and in my thread about motor selection should be in a sticky or some such, as I'm sure I'm not the first or last noob to ask this kind of thing.

    motor for no weld grinder

Thanks guys, if it wasn't for forums like this I'd still be usin' files and sandpaper. Rob45 your explanation has really cleared things up thank you for taking the time. For what I want and my level of skill I think I'll go with the lower speed. As for if 1440/2800 are the standard? not sure but...
