    Damascus and Walrus

Nice- really like the lines and the walrus, with that guard material and damasus. A little different than your usual but can still see the "Wade" in the style.:3:

    need heat treat furnace plans

Maximus- after rereading your post I realized you were talking about building an electric heat treating furnace- my mistake. After a brief internet search I see that dcknives has a pretty good tutorial on building a furnace, but no plans to purchase outright.

Why no one knows what a custom knife maker is...

So absolutely true Tracy and Laurence- I had a recent experience with my boss and his family at a restaurant and I told them "I'm into knifemaking"- They stare at you and blink. Then I said, just to try to get them back to earth a little, "oh, it gives me a chance to work with exotic woods" and...

    need heat treat furnace plans

Maximus- you can get simple gas forge plans on the Zoeller Forge site, and there are others-Boss Dog has a good book on burners, which would be handy to have. I recommend you build a basic burner with a mig tip and iron fittings, which is easy and will help your grasp of the fuel/air process. I...

Western Repair and a Pak Bowie

Here is recent batch of repairs and a Pakistan bowie, all commission work. The hatchet-knife interchangeable combo had a broken spring clip on the one handle which made an SS replacement for it and knife blade had bench grinder marks on it so was a re-grind. The skinner is a model 239 and was in...

What is best way to do hidden pivot pin?

I have always liked the look of hidden pivots on liner locks (just 2 small screws holding bolster on) but did not know how to do it so am asking for tips please. Seems like it would be best to have a pivot screw countersunk into liner under the bolster, but I think some just use a shouldered or...
