    Bevel Filing Jig

I cut the plunge lines first. On the jig with a round file mounted on the bar and a home-made plate clamp. Does a decent job of it.

    Bevel Filing Jig

It would be nice to be able to flip the knife and file the other side whilst still clamped. I like a round plunge so I I file that first with a round file attached to a bar on the jig then line up the flat file with the centre of the filed channel. It lines up well so flipping the blade on the...

    Bevel Filing Jig

Thanks for the comments guys! I need to find the time to finish it. I should be making knives but I seem to spend most of my time making jigs and templates. Not that I mind as there is a pleasure to be had from it.

    Bevel Filing Jig

Decided to upgrade my filing jig. Must've made about thirty knives on the old MDF one. I like the simplicity and flexibility of this method so have put the old girl out to pasture and knocked up a new improved version. Well, it will be when I finish it. Anyway, filed the first two blanks on it...

    Home-made Sharpening Contraption

Thanks guys! It just came out of my mind. Didn't even make a single drawing. I probably went a bit over the top with it but I enjoyed every minute of making it. I'll make a little video of it in action when I finish tidying it up.

    Latest One.

Thanks guys! This is the second time I have done this pattern filework. The first was better. I drilled 15 evenly spaced holes then filed the angled slots. It's a bit of a risk. Plenty of potential to mess it up. Filled with black epoxy.

    Home-made Sharpening Contraption

Far from finished but all the parts are there. I need to strip it back down and tidy it all up then re-assemble but I'm too busy using it just now and it works great. All metal construction. The main body and legs are 14mm solid square bars, the rest is steel and brass. Cam locking sliding jaw...

Thank you! I did make the bead. Its just a piece of leftover micarta and a bit of the pin material. I think it makes a nice finishing touch.

    Forged trailing point hunter

Superb looking knife and the quality is fantastic! I think that's the crispest looking fit around the bolster i've ever seen! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by trailing point though? Knife terminology isn't my strong point i guess.

simple techniques to etch a blade?

Is it a patina all over the blade that you seek or an etch like a makers mark? I use 01 and have had some success with simple methods. The smokey stripes on this one was done with salad cream. The makers mark on this one was nail-varnish,salt-water and a 9v battery.

    Utility/Hunter with black & green g-10

Great looking knife! The quality of the craftsmanship is superb. The doveitailed bolsters look great alongside the black liners, especially when viewed against the tapered tang and the profile is very nice. Just my kind of knife!! Darren.
